Webinar: Our work environments and procedures continue to evolve with advances in technology, and so do the methods for evaluating the physical and cognitive demands of jobs. This session will: Review the use of physical demands analysis (PDA); Expand on methods for evaluating manual materials handling (MMH) and posture analysis; and Discuss emerging ways to tackle cognitive demands analysis. Paper: Currently, there is no standard PDA template that can be used to effectively assess all of the relevant demands of a job, physical and otherwise. The overall aim of this study was to develop a comprehensive PDA that can be effectively used by a majority of occupations. The specific objectives of this research were to: (1) perform a critical review of existing PDAs; (2) use comparative analysis to assess the scope and sections included in existing PDAs; and (3) based on results from the comparative analysis, develop a comprehensive PDA for use across occupations.
