CROSH Webinar: User Interface Inefficiencies and Inconsistencies in Medical Devices

Sophisticated medical devices often consist of their own unique user interface design that may differ greatly from other manufacturers or even its predecessor. This design freedom creates inconsistencies in medical device user interfaces for devices of the same functionality which can pose a threat to both healthcare professionals and patients. An area of literature that has not been extensively explored is the effect of interacting with inconsistent medical device user interface designs for medical devices of the same function. This webinar aims to explore the problems that face healthcare professionals, nurses in particular, when interacting with inconsistent user interface designs that ultimately prevent easier, safer and more efficient medical device use.
