About CROSH

CROSH is a research centre at Laurentian University specializing in occupational health and safety (OHS).

We’re proud to be part of the Northern Ontario community. We recognize that Laurentian University is located on the traditional lands of the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek and that the Greater City of Sudbury also includes the traditional lands of the Wahnapitae First Nation.

CROSH is partially funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. CROSH is led by a Director, Dr. Sandra Dorman, and supported by Laurentian University and an advisory board.

Our Vision

We envision a Northern Ontario where workplaces partner to ensure every worker gets home safe and healthy every day.

Our Mission

We will be an agent for innovation and discovery to solve relevant and critical problems facing northern industries so they can eliminate occupational injury and disease from their workplaces.

Our Philosophy

Our occupational health and safety philosophy is Prevention Through Research.

Our Research Approach is Field-to-Lab-to-Field. We first engage with communities and workplaces to identify critical research questions. We then conduct innovative field research to understand the problem, develop evidence-based interventions in the lab, and then evaluate those interventions back in the field. We repeat this process until the problem is solved.
