Identifying the Mental Health Status of Indigenous & Non-Indigenous T3PS Officers’ Working in NW Ontario
Police officers are essential frontline workers tasked with protecting our communities. As a result, they are more susceptible to developing mental health problems. In Canada, police officers serve communities municipally, provincially and federally. In Northwestern Ontario (NWO) additional self-administered Indigenous police services are employed. It is likely that Indigenous officers working in rural NWO experience heightened mental-illness in comparison to urban police counterparts. Presented by Emily Tella
